About Us

East of Scotland Paranormal established in 2007, as a paranormal research and investigation group. Consisting of five core members and three distant researchers, we aim to investigate the Grampian region and expand research across the paranormal community.

The team holds a sceptical methodology when approaching research, collecting, analysing and then sharing our results. The intention of the group is not to prove or disprove the paranormal but simply to broaden this area of research in aid of developing a better understanding of the world that we live in. We focus our research on “haunting phenomena”, investigating locations that claim to be experiencing some form of paranormal phenomena. This includes research into Apparitional Experience, Electronic Voice Phenomena and Poltergeist Activity. However, we pride ourselves in being a group that covers a broad range of areas and are constantly seeking new areas of research to get involved with.

Due to the nature of our work we do not use any methods of investigation that we feel cannot be quantified or monitored effectively. This includes many of the more traditional means of spiritual communication methods such as the Ouija board and Séances. We do, however, conduct research into some of these methods as a separate project; although not useful for the team as a method to research haunting phenomena they are still a valuable insight into the psychological and physiological influences that surround the paranormal field.

East of Scotland Paranormal is interested in introducing innovative methods of research into the field. We look to combine a plethora of different academic disciplines (psychology, physics, history, philosophy etc) with intuition and creativity to form a forward thinking and motivated approach to research. We believe in working with the paranormal and local community to explore and educate, expanding our own knowledge and the people around us.
