To answer the question, “do you believe in the paranormal?” is a difficult one to answer. Sure enough I believe that paranormal things happen. To clarify, I do believe that things happen that are beyond the scope of current human understanding. However, to answer the question, “Do you believe in ghosts?” is easy, the answer to that is a resounding “no”.

In way of explanation for this I have to set out my reasoning towards this answer. Firstly i try in life to look at things scientifically, but what exactly is science? Well, to paraphrase Richard Dawkins, “Good science stars with a hypothesis and then you endeavour to disprove that hypothesis”. To that end, science is the process of rationalising thought by arguing around obstacles that make an argument untrue.

Within my work with ESP we have collected numerous pieces of data that people may determine to be paranormal, but i have never came across anything that either cannot be explained easily by my limited understanding of natural law, or anything that the best explanation for the phenomena is that the phenomena is caused by the ghost or sprit of a dead human being.

But as a sceptic, by the true sense of the word, not the confused meaning the a sceptic is a non-believer. I will keep reviewing evidence as it presents itself and hopefully that will come up with something exciting.
